Bower Yousse & Thomas J Cryan: Presentation & Booksigning
Freddie Steinmark started at safety for the undefeated University of Texas Longhorns in 1969. In the thrilling “Game of the Century,” Steinmark played with pain in his left leg. Two days later, X-rays revealed a bone tumor and within a week of the Arkansas game, his leg was amputated. Two years later, Freddie passed away, and was laid to rest in his hometown of Denver, Colorado. Bower Yousse, a close childhood friend of Freddie’s, and co-author Thomas J. Cryan will discuss and sign their new book Freddie Steinmark: Faith, Family, Football ($24.95 University of Texas Press ISBN 9781477308219). Written with unfettered access to the Steinmark family and archives, this book is the exploration of a brief but full life, one that began humbly but ended on a grand stage.
